Xylophagou (Greek) is a sprawling Greek-Cypriot village situated close to the A3 Motorway between Dekelia (Larnaca) and Paralimni,Protaras and Agia Napa. The group of several similar villages is known as, the Kokkinochoria (red [earth] area) known for growing vegetables, especially potatoes. Xylo is Hellenic meaning 'wood'. Most of the village lies in Larnaca District though if travelling from East to West, motorway signage would seem to suggest that some of the village lies in the Ammoschostos (Famagusta) District.

Xylophagou has a 15th century church dedicated to St George. There is also an iconostasis of St George from 1772 and a huge depiction of the Archangel Michael on the north wall.

The village has many tavernas where you can experience the famous 'Meze' of approximately 30-35 dishes! There is also a Pub and a Cafeteria for you to enjoy a drink during the day or night. Furthermore, post office, bank and supermarkets.
